PIANO
I have been pretty much been taking piano lessons forever. At McGehee, I took lessons with Laura Booras until my freshmen year of high school where she recommended I move on to take classical piano lessons at a higher level. With Ms. Booras, I went through the all 7 of Alfred's Basic Piano Library books and Theory books then began to learn some classical piano pieces that she had.
I now take lessons with Joni Jensen, who (teaches at Tulane and Loyola) and we have not been progressing by a certain book. The biggest pieces I have worked on with Ms. Jensen so far have been Claude Debussy's Clair de Lune and Arabesque. Though we have not done any lessons on music theory together, I have worked on it through a friend who is taking in an online class in music theory and I have had discussions with my choir teacher who has (a PHD in music theory?). I intend on taking AP Music Theory online in my senior year.
